About Joel

Joel was raised in the mountains of Northern California. He fell hard for movies when Jurassic Park tore its way into his life in a single-screen theater.​

Joel honed his craft through documentary-style editing for major feature film campaigns and behind-the-scenes documentaries, finding a narrative and shaping stories from nothing.​

Most recently, he has been focused on animatic and animation editing at Marvel Studios, where he was nominated for an ACE Eddie Award and won an Annie for his work on What If…?

At DreamWorks Animation, he cut on Guillermo del Toro's eight-time Emmy® Award-winning Tales of Arcadia trilogy and was nominated for an editing Emmy on the finale series, Wizards.
